New! My blog for The Reiki Studio!

Welcome to The Reiki Studio website and blog!

I meet so many of you through my website so I am thrilled to be able to have a blog on the site where I can update everyone in real time and let you know what's going on at the studio and in the world of Reiki!

For those Iowan's among us, it has been a long, hard winter. Reiki is a healing practice filled with light and love. But even for the most optimistic reiki practitioner or client, this winter was a bear! Despite the weather, it was a busy winter at the studio. Reiki I and II classes were in such high demand that I didn't get a chance to post all of them on the website or in the papers. It was a joy to see new reiki practitioners emerge from class and start to work with reiki. The changes at times were subtle, some dramatic, but all amazing and wonderful.

In November and December, I held a four week Reiki III Practitioner class.  It was a learning experience for both teacher and students as the students challenged me with in depth questions about reiki and quantum physics. I am fascinated with the study of metaphysics and this was a satisfying class for everyone.

Over the winter, I met four students who have been longtime practitioners of The Silva Method. I hope to learn more about this method in the days to come. It's funny how people with similar interests show up at the same place. It's a Law of Attraction thing, for sure. One student even suggested a study group for Silva practitioners. I will talk to her more about this and see where it takes us.

I think the most delightful thing that happened was hearing from someone I hadn't seen since I was 10 years old. This old Girl Scout friend found me on facebook and scheduled a reiki appointment with me while she was visiting family back in the Quad Cities over the holidays. She had just received her Level 2 Reiki training in Oklahoma and it was great to compare notes and see how they do things in another region of the country. At the end of the day, Reiki is the same wherever we go. It's all the same universal energy that's available to us all and reawakened for us by the attunement process. No matter who our reiki teacher was and no matter which "branch" of reiki our lineage denotes, we all share a common bond with Reiki.

Over the past month, I've been meeting individually with Reiki II graduates to teach and practice some Japanese Reiki techniques. If you haven't scheduled a time yet to meet with me, please contact me soon as I will be having a schedule change in about two weeks. I'd like to wrap this up before the first of April, if at all possible.

I want to thank the loyal reiki practitioners who helped keep the study group going all winter. We only had to cancel once because of weather. Now, as we await the snowbirds who are returning from the south and west and from their homes as they are unable to navigate at night in the winter, we are ready for a new season with new focus. This winter, we dug deep into the roots of reiki, learned some new techniques, and talked and talked and talked! The study group has been going since June of last year and I anticipate that it will continue for a long time to come. As new students come and others grow, there will always be something new to talk about in the world of reiki and energy.

Stay tuned, subscribe, and keep in touch. I'll blog as often as possible and try to give you insightful information about Reiki and the news from the studio.

Reiki is non-invasive, gentle, yet powerful method of healing.
